OUR WONDERFUL SOLAR SYSTEM

This webquest lets the children learn something about the solar system. it is foru fourth course of primary. They have to organise the inofrmation from videos and webs to answer the questions and make their solar system mural.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS?

THINK, THINK. iT IS RELATED TO THE PLANET WHERE WE LIVE.

TICK ON TASK (TAREA) AND CHECK IF YOU GUESSED IT.

We live in he Earth. Although it is very big for us, the Earth is very tiny planet in the enormous universe.

The universe has a lot of galaxies. The planets are into the galaxies, so our Earth is into one of those galxies. The Milky Way is our galaxy and it has a solar sytem where the Earht is.

Let´s know more about it and be a GREAT SCIENTIST about solar system. You have to do step by ste to get it.

LET'S START

STEP 1

Whach the videos and answer the questions.

 

1-How many planerts are in solar system? and what are their name?

2- Organise the planets from the nearest to the furthest from the sun.

3- What planets have moons?

4- What are the dwarf planets?

5-Why is not Pluto a planet?

6- Where is the asteroid belt?

WELL DONE¡ YOU ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS. Now WAIT TO CHECK THEM IN CLASSROOM.

 

STEP 2

We are going to be make our solar system. It is necesarry to know more informatión to make our solar system. Click on the picture and write the characteristics of every planet. We will need this inofrmation to make our solar system mural. You can complet this inofrmation with the resources.

 

 

 

When the solar system lesson is the next, the techer will send the step 1 of this webquest., so it is the first contac with this topic before the teacher's explication.

The children birng the step 1 done for the next class on a paper. Every children check one of thier calssmate's questions. The teacher explain the mistakes and the possible difficult questions for them.Following, the teacher takes the student's questions to check again by herself or hisself. Later,  the class converses about the videos. Whole class together compare the infromatión from the video with the their textbooks. The teacher also adds a new information of this topic. To introduce the second step, he/she shows the children how can use the 3D solar system. This web is on the picture of step 2.

The children have to do the stpe 2 in thier house. They have to explore the 3d solar system. They also have to do a review about evary planets' charesteristis. This reviews are necessary to make the solar system mural. The next class, the children organise in 8 groups. Every group describe and write about the planet which the teacher tell them.They are going to use theirs reviews which they did in the step 2 to do that. It is the note of every planet which we glu on the mural. The planets of the mural are printed pictures at scale which were prepared by the teacher.Every group glu its picture planet on the right orbit of the mural and read its note or information. When every group put its planet on the mural, whole calss write about the dwarf planet on the whiteboard and it is glued on the mural.The teacher takes all reviws whcih the childre do indually to chech them. To finish the class, whole class plays with the games from resources.
